Anthony Edwards has become one of the best and most electrifying players in the NBA. The 6’4″ Minnesota Timberwolves superstar is as solid and well-rounded a basketball player as you will find, as well as one of the most explosive athletes in the league. As a bonus he is also highly charismatic (in his own way), making him any sneaker brand’s ideal signature athlete. Anthony Edwards shoes were an inevitability.
Anthony Edwards was the 1st pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and many questioned the T-Wolves decision. There were some doubts surrounding Edwards’ ability to adapt his game to the NBA, and selecting him meant passing up LaMelo Ball, who was the top player in that draft for many fans and analysts. But it didn’t take him long to prove to the world why he was the top pick and earn his first signature shoe with adidas.
But, let’s not get ahead of ourselves, let’s dive into the article, go over Antman’s basketball career briefly, and take a look at all the Anthony Edwards shoes we have seen over the years.

Anthony Edwards Shoes 2023-24
The 2023-24 season has been the best of Edwards’ career so far, both on the court and as a major player in the sneakerverse. Edwards has become one of the best two-way players in the NBA, and the top player on a top team in the Western Conference. He has been averaging about 26 ppg, 5 rpg, and 5 apg, which earned him his second All Star selection, and is a huge reason why the T-Wolves have become a powerhouse in the league.
This was also the season when Edwards got his first signature shoe with adidas. The adidas AE 1 has turned out to be one of the best first signatures ever. Not only is it a great on-court performance model, but it features one of the most innovative designs of any shoe in 2024, and it’s backed by one of the best marketing campaigns in years. Edwards admitted that he had very little input regarding the design of the shoe, but it all worked out splendidly.
The AE 1 features a unique and polarizing design and is packed with some of adidas’ top performance features, including full-length Jetboost cushioning. Support is certainly a highlight of this shoe. It features a very wide base with tons of contact area with the court, that odd honeycomb-looking TPU wrap that does a wonderful job of providing lateral containment, adidas’ X Frame spring plate, and an internal and external heel counter. The shoe also boasts a no-nonsense traction setup that’s a beast on indoor surfaces. On top of all that, the shoe retails for a very reasonable $120.
Anthony Edwards Shoes 2022-23
The 2022-23 season was slightly worse than the previous for Minnesota as a team, however, Antman took a major step forward as a player. This was the season he established himself as the team’s undisputed go-to player. Up until this point, Karl Anthony Towns had been the T-Wolves star, but Edwards took the torch and ran with it.
Edwards turned in averages of 25 ppg, 6 rpg, and 4 apg with 1.6 steals, he was named to his first All-Star Team, and, although he wasn’t among the league’s elite, he began to be known as an effective defensive player. The T-Wolves made the playoffs as the 8th seed in the Western Conference and were booted in the first round by the eventual champions, the Denver Nuggets. Same overall result as the previous season, with a slightly worse all-around performance.
Antman played primarily in the adidas BYW (Boost You Wear) Select Low, but we also saw him break out a couple of pairs of the Harden Vol 7. The Harden Vol 7 was one of the best, if not THE best basketball shoe of 2023, and the BYW Select is a pretty underrated performance model. The shoe features either solid rubber or translucent rubber outsole depending on the colorway, with full-length herringbone traction that includes a couple of radial traction pods within it.
You also have a full-length Boost which is heavily caged (muting the foam compression), a substantial TPU shank plate, and a mesh upper which is equipped with lateral and medial lace cables. A very solid, under-the-radar hoop shoe.

Anthony Edwards Shoes 2021-22
Edwards had a very solid sophomore year. He averaged 21 ppg, 5 rpg, and 4 apg, which helped the Timberwolves clinch the 7th seed going into the playoffs, which was a big improvement in regards to the previous season. They were booted by the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round, but still, the Wolves showed a ton of promise.
Edwards played pretty much in just 2 shoes that season: the adidas Exhibit A and the adidas Crazy BYW 2.0. Both are decent, reactive basketball shoes that fit Edwards’ explosive playing style well. We can see Ant tending towards, low to the ground, elastic and agile sneakers, that cator to his electric playing style.

Anthony Edwards Shoes 2020-21
Anthony Edwards, as we mentioned, was selected number 1 overall during the 2020 draft. Being the number one pick comes with a lot of scrutiny, especially when many analysts think the team that drafted you made a huge mistake. The golden child of that draft class was LaMelo Ball, and a lot of people wondered why the Wolves would take Edwards over Ball.
But Edwards took little time to prove his worth. As a rookie, Antman averaged 19 ppg, 5 rpg, and 3 apg. The Timberwolves underperformed, and ultimately, LaMelo Ball would take home the Rookie of the Year Award, but Edwards didn’t disappoint.
This was also the year Edwards signed his sneaker deal with adidas, which of course, explains the many adidas models he played in that season. He played in the Harden Vol 3, the Harden Vol 4, the Harden Vol 5 the Don Issue 2, the Dame 6, the Dame 7, and the adidas Crazy BYW 2.0. Before signing as an adidas athlete just two games into his rookie season, he played in the Kobe 5 and showed up to media day in a pair of the LeBron 17 Low.

Anthony Edwards College Shoes
Anthony Edwards played college basketball at the University of Georgia. He only played one season in college, but it was enough to get the attention of the NBA. He averaged 19 ppg, 5 rpg, and 3 apg over 32 games with the Bulldogs. He was named the SEC Rookie of the Year and to the All-SEC team.
While at Georgia, Anthony Edwards played in Nike (Georgia is a Nike school after all) and he showed a predilection for low-profile speedy guard-style shoes. He played in the Freak 1, the 2017 Low Hyperdunks, the Kyrie 5, and the PG 4.
